I cannot believe it - my grandson, DAvid, is going to be 19. Where did the years go?
Here is the birthday card I made for him. I saw a similar card online, and changed it up by adding a strip of Crumb Cake ribbon and a small Soda Pop Top that I flattened using the Big Shot. Then I added a tiny cupcake to the Soda Pop Top. I hope he likes it.

I love that previous In Colors have been added to the color groups, although I will miss some of the colors that will be going away: Pretty In Pink, Certainly Celery, Pretty In Pink, Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red and Not Quite Navy. But there is a brand new color, Smoky Slate, which is a light gray and will coordinate beautifully with Basic Gray.

A dear friend from Southern California passed away a few days ago after battling MS for years. I am sharing the card I made to send to her husband, Harv.
I used the stamp set, Creative Elements, a set I've owned for a while, but never used till now. I certainly will be using is again! I also used a number of items from the 2013 Spring Catalog.

It is time for me to begin blogging again! Last year was such a difficult year for me, and I'm trying to get "back in the groove".
Here is a Valentine card I made using prodcts from the 2013 Spring Catalog. I absoutely love the new Honeycomb embossing folder, and it creates an even better texture on the Core'dinations cardstock.
Despite its appearance, this card was pretty easy to make. Want to know how I filled in all those honeycomb shapes? I ran some of the new More Amore Specialty Designer Series Paper through my Big Shot and the Honeycomb EF, cut out the shapes with my paper snips, then glued them onto the card. This was not as time consuming as you might think, and I love the look.
I also used the new Occasions Paper-Piercing Pack to outline the heart at the top of the card. The heart outline was stamped with the new Hearts a Flutter stamp set, re-stamped with the solid heart in the set, then cut out with the new Hearts a Flutter Framelits. The sentiment is from Delightful Dozen, and the ribbon is a Sale-A-Bration item, the Sycamore Street Ribbon and Button Pack.

I recently saw this wine bottle cover and loved it. It was created by Lynn Pratt, a talented Stampin' Up! demonstrator. We will also be making a matching card. You wo't believe how easy both projects are to make! If you change up the colors of cardstock used this would also make a great hostess gift for Thanksgiving! Can't you just see a pilgrim outfit?
I can't believe that at this time last week I was in Salt Lake City, enjoying the Stampin' Up! convention! Here is a swap card I made for Sandy Hancock's get-together Friday night -
I colored the stamp with markers - Old Olive, Early Espresso, Summer Starfruit, and used the "thumping" technique to add a bit of Cajun Craze to the flowers. I stamped the image on Whisper White, cut it out with the the Labels Collection Framelits, then paper-pierced both the Whisper White and Summer Starfruit layers with the new Festive Paper-Piercing Pack from the Holiday Mini Catalog. I used a piece of the new Natural Composition Specialty Designer Series Paper at the bottom - I LOVE this paper!

I attended Sandy Hancock's Friday night get-together the Friday night of the Stampin' Up! convention, and was honored to do a demonstration of the Paper-Piercing Packs. Here are two of the cards I made to demonstrate the product:
I used the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set (2012 Holiday Mini) for both versions of this card, but used a different technique on each. For the card on the left I stamped the ornaments, cut them out with the new Holiday Ornaments Framelits Dies, adhered them to the card, then paper-pierced the ornaments with the new Festive Paper-Piercing Pack. For the card of the right I stamped the images directly on the card, then paper-pierced around the ornaments.
I used Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla cardstock, and the Be Of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper from the 2012/2013 Catalog. The sentiment is from the Joyous Celebrations stamp set (2012 Holiday Mini). These cards use the same stamp set and paper, but have a different look. Which one do you like the best?

For this card I used the new Holiday Frames Embossing Folder and the Joyous Celebrations stamp set, both from the new Holiday Mini. The Designer Series Paper is the Be Of Good Cheer, found in the new 2012/2013 Catalog. This was fun card to make!
I've already had a full day in Salt Lake City, and the Stampin' Up! convention hasn't officially started yet - that comes tomorrow. Today I got my darlingconvention bag, free stamp sets, shopped in the Memento Mall, and toured the Corporate office in Riverton. The newest member of my downline, Karen, came to convention with me. I thought I'd share a photo that was taken of us at the Corporate office.
Don't we look happy? We were, and not just because we're at convention. It is very hot here, and the Corporate office was air conditioned!
I wanted to make a special card for my grandson's high school graduation, and I thought the new Blue Ribbon stamp set (#125981 clear mount, $20.95; #125979 wood mount, $28.95) would be perfect. The set is versatile, and can be used for other occasions, not just graduations.
To the left is the front of the card. I used David's favorit color, red, with black and white accents. The Designer Series Paper is from the new Polka Dot Parade, #126902, $10.95. I love this pack of DSP - colors are Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Marina Mist, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, and Rich Razzelberry.
To the right is the inside of the card. The sentiment is from the Word Play stamp set (#120308 clear mount, $41.95; #120651 wood mount, $28.95).
