Wow! I cannot believe it has been since the beginning of October since I last posted. Shame on me!
I have been really busy preparing for the Farmer's Market on the Cedar Street Bridge, which is every Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM. We have 30 vendors who are selling handmade goods - knit hats and scarves, jellies, candles, quilts and jewelry to name a few. I have a kiosk where I am selling lots of items for your holiday gift-giving: Christmas cards, hand-stamped candles, gift card holders, chocolate boxes, and cocoa packets. If you live in the area please stop by to do some of your Christmas shopping.
Here is an example of a gift item I made. One of my dear friends was the recipient of this one, but I have others for sale at the Farmer's Market.
I made this using the Decor Elements Blocks found in the Holiday Mini Catalog, item #116829. You get four smooth MDF natural wood 3" blocks - all ready for decorating. I cut cardstock and the Merry Moments Designer Series Paper (#115672, $9.95, in the Idea Book & Catalog) into 3" squares, the glued them to the blocks using the Anywhere Glue Stick (#104045, $3.95 for two). I don't have the Sizzix Serif Essentials Alphabet dies, so I used my Cricut to cut out the letters. I embellished the letters with Dazzling Diamonds glitter (#102023, $4.50), added a little bling with rhinestones purchased at the craft store, then tied the whole thing together with Old Olive 1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon (#115618, 10 yds. for $8.95).
I have made another set that says "SNOW", using Bashful Blue and the Christmas Coca Specialty paper in the Holiday Mini Catalog, and the Serene Snowflakes stamp set featured on page 26 of the Holiday Mini Catalog (#115438, $20.95). I used Shimmery White cardstock for the letters - it really came out nice. I took a picture of it with my cell phone, and with any luck I will transfer the photo to my PC so I can share it with you.
If you would like to make some of these Decor Elements Blocks yourself, just contact me to order the necessary supplies. They are super easy and fun to make!
